Rohan Morris

artist, designer, creator, performer, curator, educator

I explore male identity across a range of mediums including painting, drawing, video, photography and installation. My work invites viewers to engage with perspectives and experiences that may feel unfamiliar, encouraging reflection and reconsideration.

My current practice is informed by sexual politics, domestic objects and the male gaze within a rural context. I am particularly interested in the transitional spaces between boyhood and manhood, examining how identity is shaped by family, society, sexuality and consumer culture.

Through personal reflection and broader cultural inquiry, I question what it means to be a man today. Are contemporary masculinities shaped by repression, or do they offer opportunities for empowerment within and beyond traditional frameworks?
